Despite rampant AIDS, and despite several brutal civil wars and genocides, we RESOLVE to wage a war against poverty, disease, and ignorance. We will not give up!

Did you know? 95% of the world's AIDS orphans live in Sub-Saharan Africa. This is why we focus on saving as many of these children as possible. It's obvious to anyone who has visited the streets and the IDP camps that these orphaned children have little -- if any -- practical hope for the future.

Our goal is to end the cycle of abject poverty by providing free education, vocational training, and a secure community for our region's orphans. We want to reach the "tipping point" of success by getting these children through school and giving them valuable vocational training along the way.

We are interested in a hand up, not a hand out. We are interested in building schools and retail centers instead of hospices and refugee camps.

  • THE PROBLEM: We identify the main problems and give a few sobering statistics on what it's like to be an orphan in Sub-Saharan Africa.

  • THE IMPORTANCE OF: Education; Vocational Training; Medical Access; Hope; Love; Family; Community; Dreams; Life.

  • HOW TO HELP US: We need your help to turn this region around. We cannot do it alone. There are many people and corporations in the fight with us, and we need your support as well.

  • CONTACT US: Our address, phone, fax, and emails.

UPDATE!!
JOSEPH KONY SAYS HE IS 'READY FOR PEACE'

[REUTERS NEWS SERVICE] May 24 -- After 20 years of a gruesome war, Ugandan rebel chief Joseph Kony says he's ready to lay down his weapons.

Kony was seen mediating peace talks with Sudan's vice-president Riek Macher. But the meeting has sparked controversy because it shows the elusive Kony taking $20,000 (USD) cash from Sudan's second-in-command.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued a warrant for Kony's arrest but Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni has said he will keep the rebel leader safe should he wish to surrender.

The ICC has said the Southern People's Liberation Movement/Army (SPLM) - who leads Uganda - is obliged to carry out the warrants.

Joseph Kony, Uganda Rebel Leader, says in English: "I want peace, that is why I was in the bush. I want peace, I am fighting for peace."

Read the story here.

We are wondering: Will Kony be able to avoid International Criminal Court proceedings? How will the government of Uganda help pick up the pieces of 20 years of civil war? Will ANYONE be held accountable for the generation of atrocities committed in our region? Now, MORE THAN EVER, the orphans need our help to put back the tattered pieces of their lives.
